Raise Your Glass, Responsibly: Bringing Safe Drinking to Leeds’ Best Venues

Imagine walking into the legendary Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen or one of Leeds’ other iconic venues and seeing friendly, engaging messaging that reminds you to pace yourself, stay hydrated, and look out for your mates. Not in a preachy way—just in a way that fits seamlessly into the scene, helping to keep the fun going without the fallout.

Leeds is a city that knows how to have a good time. From live music to buzzing nightlife, it’s a place where the drinks flow as freely as the good vibes. But what if we could make those nights out even better—safer, smarter, and more enjoyable for everyone? That’s where a responsible drinking campaign, such as No Regrets, comes in.

“We’re proud to work with the No Regrets campaign. We’ve seen it all working in late night venues, there’s nothing worse than someone getting too drunk, injuring themselves, falling out with friends or worse – when they only wanted to have a good night. The best nights in our venues are ones when everyone leaves with a smile on their face. We also work with Shreena at Women’s Night Safe Space to train be alert to the issues that women feel around the night time industry. That has been massively helpful in terms of shifting our perspectives and implementing new policies that focus on womens safety” – Chris Impett, the General Manager at Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen

Why does this matter? Because great nights out shouldn’t end in regret. A well-placed nudge toward moderation can help reduce accidents, improve well-being, and keep our nightlife thriving. It’s about making sure everyone gets home with good memories, not a headache (or worse).

By teaming up with venues, artists, and promoters, we can embed a culture of responsible drinking right where it counts—on the dance floors, in the beer gardens, and at the bar. So, here’s to making Leeds’ nightlife legendary for all the right reasons. Cheers to that!
